Agnes Mathiesen will be responsible for representing Vikand Direct, a comprehensive program that addresses the need for proactive healthcare in commercial shipping
Cruise industry veteran Agnes Mathiesen joined Vikand Solutions as healthcare solutions integrator of Vikand Direct for commercial shipping.

'Given her vast experience in both the maritime and business worlds, Agnes is well-suited to understanding the complexities of commercial shipping and crew well-being,' said Vikand's Len Quist, SVP and GM. She will be responsible for representing Vikand Direct, a comprehensive program that addresses the need for proactive healthcare in commercial shipping.

Vikand Direct aims to ensure a healthy crew, provide easy access to healthcare, deliver immediate support in case of emergency or serious illness and improve crew and vessel operations through increased risk management and mitigation. The service also supports safer shipping environments with reduced claims and better cost efficiencies.

Doctor-in-your-pocket direct, low bandwidth communications

Collaborating with technology providers FrontM and Inmarsat, Vikand Direct delivers doctor-in-your-pocket direct, low bandwidth communications, a solution customized and adapted for commercial maritime sectors.

Mathiesen brings more than 20 years of experience. After beginning her career on board at Norwegian Cruise Line, she came ashore to continue her NCL work, first as a port agent in Miami and later as manager of global port operations.

At Marine Benefits Ltd., wholly owned by Norwegian Hull Club, she created and developed a global network of quality hospitals to better serve mariners. Mathiesen also spent several years integrating messaging for Flåm and Oslo as well as positioning The Viking Planet, the world's first digital Viking museum.

She is based in Oslo.
