Wolfgang Jani brings experience from Austrian Airlines and Schindler Group
Wolfgang Jani joined AIDA Cruises as CFO, succeeding Ali Arnaout who will join the Wismar University of Applied Sciences as a professor.

Jani will be in charge of finance and taxes, control, legal and IT, reporting to AIDA president Felix Eichhorn.

Background in industry and aviation

Jani was CFO of Austrian Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, from April 2018 to August 2021. Prior work was with Schindler Group, a Swiss multinational company that manufactures escalators, moving walkways and elevators worldwide. He held a variety of positions there, including CFO of Schindler Elevator Corp. and commercial MD of Schindler Germany.

Arnaout becomes professor at AIDA's partner university

Eichhorn expressed gratitude to Arnaout, who has been with AIDA Cruises for more than seven years.

Although he's leaving, Arnaout is likely to maintain a link to Germany's leading cruise line since Wismar University of Applied Sciences has a long and strong partnership with AIDA. Since Wismar is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state's only university educating prospective navigation officers, AIDA has teamed up with the institution and hired a number of its graduates.

In December 2017, the Wismar University of Applied Sciences and AIDA signed a far-reaching partnership agreement to develop cruise-specific qualification offers.

Arnaout previously taught at Wismar as a visiting lecturer.
