APT Travel Group’s new headquarters in the Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin accommodates all its brands on one vast floor.

The 250-plus local employees of Australian Pacific Touring, Travelmarvel, Captain’s Choice, Botanica and Antarctic Flights, as well as OneTomorrow, the company’s charitable fund, were scattered over two floors in the old premises.

Global business

From its beginning in 1927, when founder Bill McGeary, grandfather of the current owners, converted his truck into a bus during a tram strike, the family-owned touring and cruising company has grown into a global business.

‘The old meets the new with this new working space,’ APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said.

‘We’ve got our original tour bus out the front of this contemporary, bright, open and collaborative space within,’ Cox said.

‘This new space represents more than just a new office — it is a bold investment in our people.’

New dawn

Lou Tandy (nee McGeary), co-owner with her brother Robert, said the new headquarters heralds a ‘new dawn.’

‘Next year we will see a lot of exciting new things,’ Tandy said.

‘We’ve got new ships, new marketing, new technology and we kick it all off here with a new office.’
