Australian Cruise Association’s 2025 board

A board meeting of the Australian Cruise Association in Sydney on Thursday announced Capt. Philip Holliday, CEO and director of the Port Authority of New South Wales, remains chairman for another 12 months.

Brendan Connell (Port of Brisbane) remains deputy chair and James Coughlan (Shorex Australia) is serving another term as treasurer.     

Other members of the 2025 executive committee are Kristy Little (Tasports), Shayne Murray (Cruise Broome), Karlie Cavanagh (Inchcape Shipping Services) and Andrew McKinnon (South Australian Tourism Commission).

'Ideal representation'

‘The board of management is an ideal representation of our diverse membership,’ CEO Jill Abel said.

‘Their guidance and counsel will position the association strongly as we support our membership in developing the right settings for the next phase of growth in the cruise sector,’ Abel said.

Abel also welcomed the new membership and events consultant, Gemma Axford, to the executive committee

In 2010 she won the Neil Frazer Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the cruise industry,’ elevating her to CLIA Australasia’s hall of fame.

She has been the Australasia correspondent for Seatrade Cruise Review since 1997 and for Seatrade Insider (now Seatrade Cruise News) since its launch in 2000.
