As reported here, Angell, VP and MD APAC for Norwegian Cruise Line, has replaced Royal Caribbean Group’s VP and MD Australasia, Gavin Smith, who had concluded his two-year term.

‘We look forward to continuing the great work that our two associations have done together in the past,’ Holliday said.

‘This is such an exciting time for our industry as we welcome back cruise to Australia.

'Endless' opportunities

‘The opportunities to move forward and make a positive impact for our port communities, and also the tourism industry as a whole, are endless.’

He thanked Smith for his leadership and support during the pandemic.

ACA’s CEO Jill Abel also paid tribute to CLIA Australasia MD Joel Katz.

Valued partner

‘He is a valued partner of our association and has helped to guide us all through the ‘troubled waters’ of the past two years,’ Abel said.
