BC Group appoints Thomas Martin as area manager, Canary Islands

BC Group appointed Thomas Martin as area manager Canary Islands based at the company’s offices in Gran Canaria.

In his new role, Martin will oversee the daily operations of the BC Group and focus on business development opportunities in the Canary Islands. He will report to Mark Robinson, general manager of the BC Group part of the Alsa Group Tourism Division.

25 years DMC experience

Martin has over 25 years experience in the DMC, hotel and contracting business and was the former regional director for the DMC Meeting Point (part of the FTI Group) in the Canary Islands from 2017 - 2022 and more recently the regional director of Meeting Point in Mexico where he was responsible for the opening of new DMC offices, contracting and operations.

Born in the Czech Republic he is multilingual in Czech, German (both are native languages) as well as Spanish, English and French

“As we continue to grow, looking at new opportunities and expanding our operations into new destinations and countries, Martin with all his experience and knowledge of the DMC and tour operating business in the Canary Islands will be a key asset to help BC Group drive continued growth across the Canary Islands,’ said Robinson.

Alsa Group

‘He will assist me in developing our strategy for future growth and ensure we consolidate our position as a leading player in the cruise handling business across Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands and will work closely with our colleagues from the Alsa Group to oversee the development of the cruise industry in the various ports and destinations,’ added Robinson.

Seatrade Cruise Med, Malaga

Martin will join his BC Group colleagues as exhibitors at Seatrade Cruise Med in Malaga, next week.
