Instrumental in post-COVID cruise recovery

At BVIPA she established and led the port authority’s marketing department, spearheading a transformative rebranding initiative that significantly boosted visibility and stakeholder engagement. Her efforts were instrumental in the post-COVID recovery, with cruise arrivals reaching new heights in 2023.

Chalwell previously held a key role at the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, directing multiple high-impact international marketing campaigns, enhancing the BVI’s standing as a premier Caribbean destination on the global stage.

In her new job, Chalwell will assist Tourism Director Clive McCoy in developing, implementing and overseeing a broad range of tourism marketing strategies including developing the annual marketing plan, fostering partnerships within the regional and international tourism industries and supporting the board's operational goals.

McCoy said Chalwell's 'wealth of experience and extensive industry knowledge will be invaluable as we work together to shape the future of BVI tourism.'
