Olsen, who left Carnival Australia as director corporate affairs in 2011, returned in 2015 as VP corporate affairs to rejoin the then CEO Ann Sherry.
Newly-created role
In her place, Carnival Australia has appointed Teresa Lloyd who will take up the newly created role of chief strategy and external affairs officer in July.
Lloyd, who began her career as a naval architect, managed technical services for Western Australia’s Port Hedland Port Authority. She was most recently chief executive of Maritime Industry Australia.
Carnival Australia President Marguerite Fitzgerald said Lloyd is joining the company at an exciting time as its cruise lines return to service.
A great fit
‘Teresa is a great fit for Carnival Australia given her deep technical knowledge and extensive experience advocating for the maritime industry over the past 14 years in her current leadership role,’ Fitzgerald said.
She said it is an exciting time, too, for Olsen as she takes her experience and skills to the new job with Holland America.
Fitzgerald said Olsen had given great support when she replaced Sture Myrmell earlier this year and paid tribute to Olsen’s ‘tireless efforts on behalf of Carnival Australia and their brands over many year.'
