Carnival Sensation came to the aid of a small craft in distress in international waters 37 miles off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida, early Saturday.

The Carnival Cruise Line ship maneuvered alongside the boat and provided blankets, life jackets, food and water to the 24 people of various nationalities including two children.

Evaluated by on-board medical team

When the boat began taking on water, Carnival Sensation crew rescued all 24 individuals and brought them on board. They were evaluated by the medical team and quarantined away from crew members.

Authorities were notified and the US Coast Guard dispatched a cutter to pick up the 24 people.

With cruise operations paused, Carnival ships are at minimum non-operational manning status with limited crew and no passengers.
