Carnival ship rescues 25 people stranded at sea

Carnival Radiance rescued 25 people stranded on a small boat off Mexico's Pacific coast on Saturday.

The Carnival Cruise Line ship was sailing toward Ensenada Saturday afternoon when the US Coast Guard notified the bridge of a distress call.

Those rescued included three children

Carnival Radiance set course for the location provided by USCG and quickly completed the rescue. All 25 people, including three children, were safely transferred aboard.

The ship's team provided food, water and medical assistance and coordinated a rendezvous with Coast Guard officials.

Three-day cruise

Carnival Radiance was on a three-day cruise that departed Long Beach, California, on Friday, and remained on schedule. It was back in Long Beach on Monday.
