Aimbridge Hospitality, a global, third party hotel management company, appointed Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy to its board.

'As we plan the next phase of growth for Aimbridge, it is timely to include a travel industry stalwart of Christine's caliber to our board of directors,' said Glenn Murphy, chairman, Aimbridge Hospitality.

Duffy leads a brand that carries more than 5m passengers in a normal year and employs more than 40,000 people from 110 nations. She joined Carnival in 2015 after five years as CEO of Cruise Lines International Association. Earlier, Duffy spent 10 years at Maritz Travel Co., where she served six years as president and CEO.

Global leadership experience

Aimbridge Hospitality CEO Dave Johnson called Duffy a trailblazer, adding: 'Her global leadership experience will be extremely valuable as Aimbridge continues to expand around the world.'

Duffy sits on the executive committee of the US Travel Association, currently serving as its first vice chair, as well as the Professional Advisory Board for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of which Carnival is the official celebration partner.
