Chris Austin, SVP global sales and marketing at Seabourn the past four years, has left, and Steve Smotrys from Cunard joined as VP global sales.

Smotrys will be responsible for overall global sales efforts, leading the teams who support the travel advisor community in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia and Australia.

'Steve and I have worked closely together over the past several years. He brings a deep understanding of the luxury market and the travel industry,' Seabourn President Josh Leibowitz said. 'Many of our travel advisor partners know Steve well and we encourage them to join us in welcoming Steve to the Seabourn family.'

Nearly 20 years in Carnival Corp. family

Previously, Smotrys was VP sales and trade marketing, Cunard North America, which Leibowitz oversaw before becoming Seabourn president in June.

Smotrys joined Princess Cruises in 2000 and over his nearly 20 years within the Carnival Corp. family he has led teams in revenue management, market planning, shore excursions and sales.

There was no immediate word on Austin's plans. Before Seabourn, he spent 30 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Doug Seagle, Seabourn's longtime VP sales, North America, was part of overall staff reductions in the spring.
