In the interim, he will act as a special adviser to the company.

Hall is the former MD of APT parent company Australian Pacific Holdings, where he worked for 21 years.

Regional growth

Ponant Chairman Asia Pacific Sarina Bratton said Hall’s appointment is to support the company’s planned growth across the region.

‘Chris will bring an additional level of experience to our international executive committee and global operations,’ Bratton said.

‘As a regional team, we have established a strong foundation to expand and Chris’ appointment will further enhance our ability to provide our guests with even more luxury exploration and expedition experiences,’ she said.

Additional deployment

She said Ponant will have additional deployment in the region, with the company’s three-masted sailing yacht Le Ponant and luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot joining Le Láperouse and Le Soléal, which have been operating in the region.

‘With the benefit of a proven operational and sales team in APAC, successfully led by Deb Corbett, I feel confident that we can explore new and different opportunities to enhance our guests’ experiences and bring trade partners even stronger results,’ Hall said.

He said Ponant is positioned for successful growth and he looks forward to making a ‘significant contribution.’
