Jeff Gillies, commercial director of Coral Expeditions, made key sales and distribution appointments as the company emerges from COVID-19 pandemic challenges and looks to the return of international sailings in 2023.

Peggy Irving, who has been with the company for the past seven years and was most recently manager commercial projects, is now sales and distribution manager Australia and New Zealand.

Industry partnerships

Irving will oversee the domestic sales, reservations and customer service teams and will be responsible for travel industry partnerships and new business development opportunities.

Newly-created role

Diane Templeton joins Coral Expeditions in the newly-created role of inside sales executive.

Templeton’s focus will be building partnership opportunities with online travel partners and developing and managing trade partner tools and resources.

She will support onboard sales across the three-ship fleet and coordinate information and events for the past passengers’ Xplorers Club.

Another newcomer

Another newcomer is Anna Powell who takes on the role of sales executive - domestic.

Working from a home-based office on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Powell will work closely with retail and wholesale travel partners in areas of product training and contracting and forging new business development opportunities for the domestic market.

International market

Gillies said Elizabeth Webb continues in her current role of international sales manager, groups and charters.

‘With international borders poised to reopen and with travel across borders likely to improve over the next 12 months, Liz will work with key expedition travel specialists from our focus markets of the UK, North America and Western Europe,’ he said.
