Cruise services startup NaviAsia launched in partnership with ECS

Andreas Storl, Adrian Wong and Julieanne Yee
NaviAsia is a new Singapore-based cruise services company, headed by two Asian cruise and tourism veterans and supported by Norwegian-based European Cruise Service (ECS).

NaviAsia is focussed on offering shore excursions, ship agency, ground handling, destination management and in-house training programmes throughout Asia, including Singapore, Brunei, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

MD Julieanne Yee

Heading the company is Managing Director Julieanne Yee. Having started her career in the tourism and cruise industries in 2003, Yee has held management positions with Star Cruises and Royal Caribbean and most recently was regional director of Asia for Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services from 2018-2021.

Alongside her is Adrian Wong, NaviAsia’s general manager, with over 20 years of expertise in destination management and business development.

Together, the pair bring their wide networks of cruise management and tourism contacts to the team and are leading NaviAsia towards its goal of expanding through Asia.

ECS has been providing cruise services for foreign cruise ships calling Norwegian ports for over 160 years and also to cruise ships calling in Sweden, Denmark, UK & Ireland and Russia, and is providing support to NaviAsia as it aims to strengthen its position in the Far East.

Ideal time for expansion

Both companies share a dedication to serving regional customers, and see this as an ideal time for expansion across Asia.

NaviAsia’s mission statement reads 'To explore and experience Asia on the path untrodden.'

For NaviAsia, its partnership with ECS enables the startup to leverage on its established partner’s experience and expertise.

Simultaneously, ECS is utilising NaviAsia’s knowledge of the regional cruise and destination management industry to drive the growth of the partnership in the region.
