Del Rio's 2022 compensation at NCLH valued at $21.2m

Frank Del Rio's 2022 compensation totaled $21.2m, compared to $19.7m in 2021, $36.4m in 2020 and $17.8m in 2019.

The president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings received a $2m salary, $8m bonus and stock awards valued at just under $11m. Del Rio also got 'other compensation' of $209,353, including an automobile, travel expense allowance, $20,0000 country club membership, premium medical plan and further perks.

In March this year, Del Rio announced his retirement and resignation from the board effective June 30. He will continue as a consultant.

$6.6m each for Sherman, Montague

Howard Sherman, former president/CEO of Oceania Cruises, and Jason Montague, former president/CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, each received compensation totaling $6.6m. For each, this included $2m bonuses in connection with their transition and release agreements.

Sherman and Montague were succeeded by Frank Del Rio Jr. and Andrea DeMarco, respectively, effective Jan. 1 this year. 

$4.6m for Sommer, Kempa

The company's other named executives, EVP/CFO Mark Kempa and Norwegian Cruise Line President/CEO Harry Sommer received compensation valued at around $4.65m, up from $3.6m in 2021.

Sommer will be succeeding Del Rio as president and CEO of NCLH and replace him on the board. He became president and CEO-elect April 1 this year, leading up to officially assuming the roles July 1.
