Disney Cruise Line made a magical day for students and teachers at Albury Sayle Primary School in Nassau.

While Disney Wish was in port, Disney cast and crew members joined Mickey Mouse for a surprise visit to the school to spread holiday joy.

'This community feels like home'

'Disney Cruise Line ships visit Nassau every week, all year long, and for many of our crew members, this community feels like home,' said Bernadette Sweeting-Miller, public affairs manager, Disney Cruise Line. 'It means so much to us to bring some Disney magic off the ship and create memorable moments for local students, especially this time of year.'

During the event, 150 primary school students had the opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse, give him a hug and take a photo with him. All the students also received a Disney toy to take home.

It takes a village

'It’s been said that "it takes a village to raise a child." This is best seen in the educational arena as the community and organizations like Disney Cruise Line come together to improve the lives of our students,' said Naria Holbert, principal, Albury Sayle Primary School. 'We are grateful for Disney Cruise Line’s support and the generous contributions they’ve provided our school for more than a decade.'

This year, as part of the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive, Mickey Mouse is going on a global giving journey. As he travels around the world, Mickey is visiting schools, hospitals and nonprofit organizations to create happiness for kids and families in need.

Eleuthera and Abaco next

Later this month, Disney Cruise Line will continue to spread holiday cheer by providing gifts to schools in Eleuthera, where the line's new island destination Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point opened earlier this year, and in Abaco, where Castaway Cay is located.
