Walt Disney Co. cast, crew, Imagineers and employees around the world will serve as godparents for Disney Treasure.

Disney Cruise Line said this is a tribute to the more than 200,000 dreamers and doers who make every Disney entertainment, vacation and at-home experience possible.

'At the core of everything we do'

'At the core of everything we do at Disney are the dedicated cast members and employees who create the magic that brings joy to millions of people around the globe,' Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger said. '... This is our way of paying tribute to the dreamers and doers who continue to tell our stories in the most compelling and innovative ways.'

The announcement came as Disney Treasure arrived at its year-round home, Port Canaveral, on Wednesday, and DCL kicked off 'Treasure Tomorrow' career exploration programs for students in each port the ship visits.

Follows Disney Wish godchildren

For Disney Treasure sister Disney Wish's 2022 inauguration, all Make-A-Wish children — including past, present and future recipients — were named godchildren of the of the ship.

Disney Treasure brings the DCL fleet to six ships, with seven more on the way by 2031. The future entrants are Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure (2025), four ships ordered by DCL from Meyer Werft in August (2027 - 2031 deliveries) and one ordered in July by Oriental Land Co. (owner and operator of Disney parks in Tokyo) for a Wish-class sister (2028 delivery).
