Fincantieri Group announced two initiatives to commemorate the late Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri from 2002 to 2022, who died last November.

The boardroom at Fincantieri's headquarters in Trieste has today been named in his memory.

The company also established a scholarship in Bono's name, intended for children of Group employees who, having obtained their baccalaureate in the 2022-2023 school year, can express their interest to enroll in a university faculty of naval, mechanical, electronic and computer engineering for the academic year 2023-2024.

Training

The scholarship will be recognized for the entire three-year course of study and aims to remember the values of training and dedication to work, which have always distinguished the work of Bono, said the Group.

Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, said: 'The scholarship named after Dr. Bono is part of the training initiatives aimed at increasing and overseeing technical and management skills, which represent a key element of Fincantieri. We need young talent to give further impetus to the digital transformation undertaken by the Group, an evolution that is already having a strong impact on most business processes and that will allow us to consolidate the leadership position acquired worldwide.'
