Holland America appoints two as VPs in guest experience team

Holland America Line enhanced its guest experience and product development team with the addition of Michael Stendebach and Anthony Stice.

Stendebach joins as VP food, beverage and guest services, and Stice in the newly created role of VP dining and beverage operations.

Stendebach will oversee all food, beverage and guest service operations and the development of operational efficiencies while driving product innovation and enhancing the overall cruise experience.

Stice will focus on dining and beverage service operations across the fleet and at private island Half Moon Cay. He also will oversee the development of wine and beverage menus and the optimization of dining and beverage revenues.

Stendebach reports to Michael Smith, and Stice to Stendebach

Stendebach reports to Michael Smith, SVP guest experience and product development (GEPD). Stice reports to Stendebach.

'I look forward to working with Michael, Anthony and the entire GEPD team as we seek new and innovative ways to excite our guests and evolve the shipboard experience to create memorable cruise vacations,' Smith said.

Stendebach most recently served as VP food and beverage operations, Princess Cruises, which followed more than nine years at AIDA Cruises in a variety of positions, culminating as VP product development for AIDA, Costa and Costa Asia. 

Stice was corporate VP food and beverage at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment with 12 theme parks serving more than 24m visitors annually. He honed his skills with the Tao Group in Las Vegas, where was beverage manager and sommelier across five high-grossing venues. He also worked as senior beverage operations manager at Royal Caribbean and corporate director of dining operations at Carnival Cruise Line.
