Isabel Galvan was appointed VP global business development & sales strategy, a newly created role at Atlas Ocean Voyages, which is restructuring its sales team.

Cathy Kusuma, who was VP sales, is leaving.

Galvan will lead all sales efforts, focusing on optimizing trade engagement, strengthening key travel partnerships and driving business growth.

She joined Atlas last spring as VP business development.

Tailored marketing and incentive programs

Galvan will use her extensive experience developing high-ROI sales and marketing programs to consolidate all key and national account partnership marketing efforts, ensuring tailored marketing and incentive programs that align with individual partner business models. In addition, she will implement a restructured sales team, emphasizing high-performing agencies specializing in luxury expedition travel.

Enhanced trade partner support

As part of this strategic transformation, Atlas Ocean Voyages is launching a dedicated internal business development team to enhance trade partner support and nurture emerging key accounts. The company said these changes reinforce its commitment to deepening relationships within the travel advisor community while expanding its market presence.

'This refined structure positions us for long-term success,' Atlas President/CEO James Rodriguez said. 'By enhancing our engagement with key travel partners and streamlining our sales approach, we will continue to deliver exceptional results in the luxury expedition space.'

Kudos to Cathy Kusuma

Atlas also expressed its 'heartfelt gratitude' to Cathy Kusuma and wished her 'all the best in her future endeavors.'

Kusuma, a veteran of field sales at Holland America Line and Seabourn, first joined Atlas in 2020 as sales director for the Eastern US and Canada. After a year away, with ICON International, she returned in 2023, initially as VP sales operations, then promoted to VP sales with an expanded team.
