The line plans to bring in a new chief commercial officer, to be announced soon, who will oversee areas including revenue, data, sales and web conversion. So Ruiz, 'having left an indelible mark on the company,' according to a Virgin Voyages spokesperson, will be stepping down and many of her duties will transfer to the new CCO role.

Staying to year's end

The spokesperson said Ruiz will remain with the business until the end of 2023 to help with a smooth transition leading into the important wave season.

Ruiz joined Virgin Voyages in the newly created chief growth officer role in November 2022.

She brought experience from senior commercial and marketing positions at American Queen Voyages, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Carnival Cruise Line.

Erin Williams

CFO Williams has accepted what the spokesperson called 'an incredible career opportunity that allows her to travel the world and continue doing the work she loves.'

Williams is helping CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu find her successor after successfully steering the company through its recent fundraising activity. She had joined Virgin Voyages in March.

Williams' background includes CFO, treasurer and investor relations roles at The World Residences at Sea, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean Group.
