Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' James Mitchell moved up to a new position as SVP newbuild strategy & development.

Reporting to Robin Lindsay, EVP vessel operations, Mitchell will focus on planning, architectural design and execution of new ships, as well as guest experience concepts, sustainability, future vessel compliance, innovation and R&D.

Was VP marine HSEM

Previously Mitchell served as VP marine health, safety, environment and medical for the past five years. He came into the organization in March 2015 with Prestige Cruise Holdings (Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises), where he was director, environmental policy & public health.

Mitchell was promoted to VP later in 2015 and subsequently took on progressively greater responsibilities. Before Prestige, he spent five years with Celebrity Cruises as an environmental officer.

As reported here in February based on a filing, Robin Lindsay was planned to transition into EVP newbuilds and refurbishment — one of the many areas he oversees — when a successor to his current role was hired. An NCLH spokesperson confirmed Lindsay remains EVP vessel operations.
