Karen Cameron promoted to deputy head of trade at Ambassador

She will be tasked with leveraging existing commercial relationships to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring trade partners have all the support and tools they need. Reporting directly into Nicola Harper, Ambassador Cruise Line’s head of distribution, the role will see Cameron manage various trade members and key partnerships with the emphasis on revenue generation and relationship building. 

Applications for the post of divisional sales manager - North, held by Cameron since February 2023, are now open. Duties involve overseeing trade business in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. 

A newly-created role

Ambassador said it received a ‘phenomenal’ level of interest after advertising the newly-created role at the end of April, however ‘the most outstanding candidate was one that Ambassador already had in-house’, according to Harper.

Cameron has worked in the travel industry for almost 30 years, beginning her career as a YTS trainee and progressing to management roles with Stewart Travel, Barrhead and Thomas Cook. At Carnival UK, she worked across P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises as regional manager covering Scotland, the North and Northern Ireland and, prior to joining Ambassador, was regional head of experience at Haven, part of Bourne Leisure.
