Abel has led hotel operations for seven years, initially as VP, promoted to SVP in 2018. His tenure has spanned the introduction of Celebrity's high-profile Edge-class ships starting in 2016.
Abel joined Celebrity after heading food and beverage operations at Royal Caribbean International for two years. When she was EVP Operations at the Royal Caribbean brand, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo had recruited Abel from a high-flier role at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He later joined her after she became president and CEO of Celebrity.
'We thank Brian for his many contributions over the years and wish him all the best on his new journey,' Celebrity said in a statement to Seatrade Cruise News.
Keith Lane
Lane has served in sales at Celebrity the past 15 years. Before that, he was in sales and trade support at Royal Caribbean.
A search will begin for his replacement in sales.
