Bondam takes over the position from former director Claus Bødker who stepped down in August 2022 after more than eight years.

Among other things, he will be responsible for ensuring sustainable growth and securing the market position of Denmark and the Baltic Sea region internationally.

A lot to show the world

Klaus Bondam comes from a recent position as CEO of The Danish Cyclist Federation where he worked within the areas of political advocacy, European cooperation and development of networks. Prior to that, he had a political career, first in Denmark as Mayor of the Technological and Environmental Administration in the City of Copenhagen. Later, he continued his career internationally as head of department at the Danish Institute of Culture in Brussels, responsible for the Benelux countries.

The newly named director said, ‘I am looking very much forward to being part of Cruise Baltic and CruiseCopenhagen. The two cruise networks are ambitious in their work towards a more sustainable cruise industry and a unified Baltic Sea region.

‘We have a lot to show the world, and I will take great pride in promoting our region internationally and strengthening the cooperation even further together with all the partners in the networks,’ he added.
