Houley will coordinate implementation of the association's sustainable development strategy, which is built around four key pillars with 12 goals and more than 35 projects. These aim to create shared value with local communities and industry players, and to reduce, as much as possible, cruising's impact on climate change while protecting host community ecosystems.

Aiming for a sustainable destination

As international cruises return, Cruise the Saint Lawrence seeks to transform the region into a sustainable destination and to spur local initiatives that give passengers a quality, eco-responsible welcome.

The dynamic and respected Houley previously oversaw cruise operations and development at the Port of Québec for a decade. She recently chaired a national committee of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities whose work helped spearhead the resumption of cruising in Canada.
