It's part of Norwegian Cruise Line's 'Giving Joy' campaign to salute teachers across the US and Canada.

Cash for three grand prize winners

The 100 winners get to sail on Norwegian Prima's first cruise from Galveston, a five-day voyage on Oct. 27. Grammy Award-winning artist Kelly Clarkson will perform onboard, and an award ceremony will announce the three grand prize winners who will each receive $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000, respectively for their school.

The 100 winners are profiled here.

Broadening horizons

'Each of these educators dedicate themselves to their students and their communities. Their role is to broaden their students’ horizons with new experiences, and now we are honored to have the opportunity to do the same for them,' NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer said.

The 'Giving Joy' contest drew support for teachers all across North America, with winners from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas in the US as well as British Columbia and Ontario, Canada.

Annual program

The annual program is designed to highlight the connection between travel and education and to recognize teachers who inspire their students every day. By the end of this year, NCL will have awarded 230 teachers across the US and Canada with free cruises and donated over $235,000 to schools since 2019.
