New roles for Lisa Kauffman, Mike Turek at Starboard Cruise Services

Retail giant Starboard Cruise Services promoted Lisa Kauffman to chief sales and marketing officer and Mike Turek to chief data analytics officer.

'With a strengthened leadership team comes a refreshed approach to providing our cruise line partners innovative and profitable retail concepts that ultimately translate into unparalleled vacation retail experiences that delight our cruise guests,' said Lisa Bauer, president and CEO.

'Between Lisa and Mike, there are more than 55 years of experience in business strategy, marketing and sales. These strategic infrastructure changes will drive Starboard’s profitable growth, expanding our capabilities in 2023 and beyond.'

Lisa Kauffman

Formerly chief marketing officer, Kauffman takes on the newly created chief sales and marketing officer role. Starboard said she brings together the transformational work the company has begun across account team management, sales, marketing, and digital and visual merchandising.  

Kauffman joined Starboard in 2019 following three years as CMO at Perry Ellis International and five years as CMO at Celebrity Cruises before that.

Mike Turek

Formerly chief commercial officer, Turek in his new chief data analytics officer role will oversee the business intelligence team and information technology department to aimed at taking data optimization, automation, process improvement and business effectiveness to the next level.  

Turek joined Starboard in 2019 as VP business performance and analysis and became chief commercial officer in 2021.

New model follows other LVMH companies

Starboard Cruise Services is part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

The company said the new structural model and Turek’s appointment were modeled after other LVMH divisions that are harnessing data to play a critical role in continuously improving the customer experience and solving the biggest challenges at scale.
