Sydney-based travel and lifestyle public relations agency Barking Owl Communications will handle the communications programmes for Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises in Australia and New Zealand.

Barking Owl has worked for the Australian Cruise Association for the past seven years.

Right time

Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises SVP and MD Asia Pacific Steve Odell said, with international borders now open, it is ‘the right time’ to embark on a new voyage with the companies’ media relations strategies.

‘Barking Owl Communications’ in-depth knowledge of the travel and lifestyle market, their professional approach to our brief, coupled with their fresh, creative ideas and a strong understanding of traditional and digital media, made them the perfect choice to amplify our brand programmes in this market,’ Odell said.

Luxury tourism

Jill Collins, MD of Barking Owl Communications, said she is looking forward to bringing the experience gained in working with luxury tourism and lifestyle brands to this new account and to growing a highly successful partnership into the future.

‘With huge pent-up demand locally for cruising, and a re-invigorated hunger for international travel, this is a wonderful time to be working with these two prestige cruise lines which are distinguished by their elevated cuisine offerings, immersive tour experiences ashore and beautifully appointed accommodation matched by highly personalised service,’ Collins said.

Anne Wild of Anne Wild Associates, who has represented Oceania and Regent in Australasia for the past seven years, has been reappointed by Norwegian Cruise Line Australasia.
