Nick Stace named CEO of Saga Travel
Former Chief Strategy Officer, Nick Stace, has been appointed CEO of Saga Travel and will head up the company's Cruise and Tours portfolio.
Stace will assume the position with immediate effect, replacing Robin Shaw who left the company in June.
‘My number one priority in my new role is ensuring that our Travel businesses are ready to provide exceptional experiences to our customers when the current restrictions are lifted’, commented Stace.
‘We know that the demand is there, because our customers are enthusiastically re-booking in both Cruise and Tours and we have worked to ensure we have detailed...procedures ready for a COVID world.’
Stace will continue to take responsibility for strategy as in his previous role, which saw him working with government and other authorities on new operating protocols as a result of the pandemic.
Saga Group Chief Executive Officer Euan Sutherland said he is ‘delighted’ Stace is moving ‘to head our Travel business after successfully driving our strategic reset.’ He added that ‘with a new strategy in place and a significantly enhanced financial position, we see a wealth of opportunities ahead of us as we position Saga to deliver sustainable growth and create significant long-term value.’
Background
Prior to joining Saga, Stace was CEO of The Prince’s Trust. His experience as CEO also spans the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and Choice, Australia’s largest consumer campaigner and publisher.
He spent eight years as Deputy CEO at UK consumer group Which? and ran the strategic communications function for past UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Stace has held additional senior leadership roles across charities, consumer-facing organisations, financial services and in regulation.
