Patrick Hood to direct HSSQE at American Queen Voyages

Patrick Hood has a two-decade track record in compliance and safety
American Queen Voyages hired commercial shipping and US Coast Guard veteran Patrick Hood as director of health and safety, security, quality and environment.

Hood is responsible for training and compliance under AQV parent Hornblower Group’s RESPECT Management System along with oversight of all federal and maritime safety regulations. He reports directly to David Giersdorf, acting president, American Queen Voyages.

Giersdorf said Hood's extensive maritime experience and his USCG service make him a welcome asset on the team.

Seabulk and OSG Ship Management

Hood has a two-decade track record in compliance and safety. Most recently, he served as HSSQE manager for Seabulk and before that as HSQE compliance officer for OSG Ship Management.

USCG roles

His lengthy USCG career included leadership roles like senior marine inspector, port state control officer and marine casualty investigator. He was an instructor and inspector with the USCG Cruise Ship National Center of Expertise.
