Anderson oversaw the company's ethics and compliance efforts related to environmental protection and the health, safety and welfare of passengers, the communities visited and shipboard and shoreside personnel.
A former US prosecutor, Anderson joined Carnival in 2019 in a position that was created as part of the company's probation agreement stemming from a 2016 criminal pollution case. That probation just ended in April.
In 2020, Anderson became one of the company's five named officers. In 2021, he received compensation valued at $1.5m.
Richard Brilliant steps up
Richard Brilliant, a 28-year Carnival Corp. veteran who's currently chief audit officer and SVP risk advisory & assurance services, will take over as chief risk and compliance officer. He'll report to Arnold Donald and the boards of directors.
SVP Wayne Cimring is promoted to chief audit offer, reporting into the company's boards and, administratively, to Brilliant.
'We will continue to build on the significant progress being made across the company and throughout each of our brands as our highest responsibility and top priority is always compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, our shipboard and shoreside personnel, and the people in communities where we operate and serve,' Brilliant said.
