Philippe Mahouin takes the helm as president at CFC
Compagnie Française de Croisières (CFC) has a new president, Philippe Mahouin, whilst co-founders Clement Mousset and Cédric Rivoire-Perrochat, former president and GM, are appointed to the cruise line’s supervisory board.
According to the company this new phase of CFC's history ‘aims at consolidating its foundations and accelerating its commercial development.'
Inaugural season
CFC launched its first ship, Renaissance, at the end of June and has already received good feedback from French, francophone or francophile passengers with satisfaction rates ranking between 88% and 93%.
Reservations were already going strong for 2024, according to Mousset in September.
These results are acknowledged by the company and Mahouin, who commented: ‘The results of the first season are very encouraging and validate Clément’s and Cédric’s concept. CFC's objective is to pursue this vision and accelerate its commercial development by staying close to its customers’ expectations.’
Cruise experience
For Mahouin, this appointment sees him re-engage with cruising, having spent over 10 years at Club Med, where he held a number of management positions, including marketing director Asia-Pacific, GM Japan and GM Belgium. Between 2011 and 2013 he was sales and marketing director in charge of development at Ponant.
Most recently he was director of revenue management, distribution and digital for Belambra Clubs (French holiday villages).
2024 will be CFC’s first full year of operation and Mahouin is looking to strengthen the existing team and a new marketing manager is planned.
Gastronomy focus
Having sailed on Renaissance, Mahouin described the ship as ‘very nice and it gives a real feeling of space. Gastronomy, which is one of its highlights, is also a French landmark. On Renaissance, we plan to make it even more refined, to introduce traditional and local specialties.’
CFC Co-founder Mousset said, ‘When Cédric and I founded CFC in 2022, we were convinced that there was a strong market demand for a French-style cruise operator like CFC. Today, we're proud to see Renaissance fully operational and its first season successfully underway. As for the future, with the arrival of Philippe as president, supported by a committed and high-quality team, we are confident in our company's development prospects.’
