Ponant appoints Julie Golding key account manager for Australasia

She returns in this new position after a year away.

After leaving Ponant in October 2023 as BDM New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory, Julie Golding returned to the newly created role of key account manager Australia and New Zealand.

23 years in travel

Golding, a 23-year industry veteran, has worked for the Globus family of brands, APT Group, Rocky Mountaineer and Silversea.

She will report directly to Julie Rogers, director of sales APAC.

‘We are thrilled to welcome Julie Golding back to our dynamic team,’ Rogers said.

‘Julie brings a wealth of expertise in luxury product development.’

Continued growth

‘Ponant continues to experience substantial industry growth,’ Asia Pacific CEO Deb Corbett said.

‘As a result, this new role was created to further strengthen the business,’ Corbett said.

Helen Hutcheon did her cadetship on a shipping magazine and worked in P&O’s Sydney office for seven years as a public relations journalist.

For 19 years she was deputy editor of Travel Week, which was Australia’s leading trade newspaper that covered major local and international industry events.

In 2008 the late legendary Rama Rebbapragada presented her with an award from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd ‘in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the cruising industry.’

In 2010 she won the Neil Frazer Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the cruise industry,’ elevating her to CLIA Australasia’s hall of fame.

She has been the Australasia correspondent for Seatrade Cruise Review since 1997 and for Seatrade Insider (now Seatrade Cruise News) since its launch in 2000.
