Funds generated by the gala underwrite ACMF scholarships and grants that support students pursuing maritime careers. Academic partners are Caribbean Maritime University (Jamaica), University of Trinidad and Tobago, LJM Maritime Academy (Bahamas), MatPal Marine Institute (Guayana) and Atlantic Alliance Offshore Training Institute (Guayana).

Celebrity Cruises is presenting sponsor for the Oct. 10 gala, which will honor Laura Hodges Bethge, president, Celebrity Cruises, and Carlos Urriola, president, Manzanillo International Terminal.

Expected attendees include a high-level network of cruise and cargo executives, Caribbean port officers, Caribbean and US government officials including the US Maritime Administration, and US and Caribbean diplomats. 

The black tie event will take place at the Lauderdale Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale.
