Royal Caribbean taps Wendy McDonald for Caribbean government relations

Wendy McDonald, a communications leader with 20 years of experience, joined Royal Caribbean Group as VP government relations, Caribbean.

She reports to Russell Benford, VP government relations, Americas, Royal Caribbean Group.

McDonald will act as the primary interface between the company, local and regional legislative leaders, and governmental bodies on laws, regulations and issues affecting the business within the Caribbean.

Joins from Cable & Wireless Communications

Previously McDonald was senior director, consumer communications for Cable & Wireless Communications, responsible for developing and deploying CWC's communications strategy for the Caribbean including government and stakeholder engagement and media relations.

Earlier roles included director of corporate and government affairs for Columbus Communications Trinidad and team lead, corporate communications for National Information and Communication Technology Co. Ltd. (iGovTT) Trinidad and Tobago. McDonald also served as a marketing communications consultant in public administration and for the Caribbean Telecommunications Union.
