Sales veteran Clark Reber, best known for his long run at Norwegian Cruise Line, became Southeast US regional sales director for Riviera River Cruises.

Riviera said this signifies the next wave of its US market expansion, with a variety of brand enhancements on tap for 2025 including new ships, onboard offerings, itineraries and promotions for travel advisors and their clients.

Riviera's Marilyn Conroy, EVP marketing and sales, has known Reber 'through the industry for many years' and watched him 'excel in his roles.

Strong trade relationships

'Clark has incredibly strong relationships with our key travel partners,' she continued, 'and I am confident that between his deep understanding of the market and his personal approach to doing business, he will be instrumental in Riviera’s success as we push to further develop our brand footprint in the North American marketplace.

Most recently, Reber managed trade sales and served as the point person for charter sales for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line (now Margaritaville at Sea).

Deep NCL experience

After beginning his career at his family’s travel agency in St. Louis, which he later helped expand, opening a second location, he became a district sales manager for NCL, followed by a role with Crystal Cruises in the Midwest. Reber returned to NCL as regional sales director, overseeing the Southeast and leading the inside sales team at the line’s Miami headquarters, where he played a key role in establishing the President’s Club. He also pioneered the development of NCL's home-based sales channel.

Reber has worked with top host agencies, consortia and franchise partners at the executive level over decades.

Advisor-friendly policies

The Florida-based Reber said he was drawn to Riviera by its high-quality product, immersive shoreside experiences and travel advisor-friendly policies. 'it’s a wonderful time for travel advisors to begin educating themselves and their clients about this phenomenal product,' he said.

Last week Reber participated in CruiseWorld, a Northstar Travel Group event, where Riviera touted two new vessels coming in 2025, a new Superior Drinks Package, the expansion of its already robust solo cruiser program, new combination and curated themed sailings with culinary and wine tours, historical excursions and agricultural experiences.

New promotions and pricing strategy

In the coming weeks Riviera will be rolling out limited-time offers for US travel advisors and their clients and sharing more details about product enhancements and a new pricing strategy for 2026 departures.

Owned by the UK's Riviera Travel, Riviera River Cruises operates a fleet of 13 vessels on the Danube, Douro, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhône and Seine rivers and the Dutch waterways.
