Silversea's Simon Weir, VP hotel experience, will report to him, with Weir and Birgit Vadlau, VP hotel operations, continuing to oversee the onboard experience.

McCarthy was appointed head of transformation at Silversea four months ago, responsible for integrating Silversea into the Group.

Still filling in on investor relations

Before this he led investor relations for the Group and since that position is still open, McCarthy filled in during today's earnings call.

Over 15 years at Royal Caribbean Group, McCarthy also held roles including VP onboard revenue for Celebrity Cruises and director of consumer outreach. He began his career aboard Azamara Cruises before going shoreside with Celebrity.
