Roberto Bruzzone, a veteran of Carnival Corp. & plc, joined Silversea as SVP marine operations.

Responsible for marine and technical operations and oversight of newbuilding and refitting activities as well as technical procurement and crew management, he'll report to Silversea President and CEO Roberto Martinoli.

Shipbuilding expertise

Bruzzone brings extensive experience in shipbuilding in a career that has spanned almost 20 years. He will play a key role in supporting Silversea's fleet expansion.

In addition to a five-year stint as VP technical operations — part of a 14-year stint at Carnival Corp. & plc — Bruzzone was chief operating officer for Independent Maritime Advisors in London, working on newbuildings for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Naval archtect and marine engineer

A chartered naval architect and marine engineer with a master’s degree, as well as an executive master’s degree in business administration from the London Business School, Bruzzone has studied in America, Italy and London. He is a member of the technical committees of Lloyd's Register and RINA.

Bruzzone takes on duties that were held by Andrea Zito, who left in May to launch the revival of Swan Hellenic.
