Almpertis has held his current role since January 2023. Prior to that he was Crystal’s senior director port operations, itinerary planning & fuel management – a position he embarked on in December 2022 when he joined A&K Group and the new Crystal Cruises under Manfredi Lefebvre, Silversea’s former owner.

‘A great journey’

‘It was a great journey and an honour working for the historical Crystal Cruises brand,’  Almpertis said. He thanked  Lefebvre and Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, for welcoming him to the new Crystal team, for trusting him and giving him 'the opportunity to work and succeed in many areas, along with officers, staff and crew, who have all achieved great things in such a short time.’

Almpertis described the relaunch of the Crystal brand under the A&K Travel Group in 2023 and plans for two new vessels as key moments.

Silversea

Born in Piraeus, ex-Greece Navy officer Almpertis has cruise industry experience spanning more than three decades.

Before Crystal, he was senior director of port operations at Silversea, racking up 13 years with the cruise line, and was part of the team that managed port shutdowns during the pandemic, later helping to remobilise the Silversea fleet locally and in lesser-known ports by working with governments around the world.
