Senior director for worldwide port operations at Silversea, Almpertis Spyros, is leaving the cruise line after 13 years.

He was part of the team faced with managing port shutdowns amidst the pandemic, and later helped to remobilise the Silversea fleet locally and in lesser-known ports by working with governments.

He was also the point of contact for port operations during the integration phase between Silversea and Royal Caribbean Cruises.

An ‘amazing journey’

‘It was an amazing journey and an honour working for Silversea Cruises,’ remarked Almpertis, who exits the cruise line in mid-August.

‘I would like to thank every officer, staff and crew member onboard who I worked with, my colleagues ashore [and] every port agent for Silversea…’
