Former Holland America Group executive Tony Archbold has taken up the role of VP sales APAC for Crystal Cruises.

Archbold, who was senior director of sales and marketing Australasia for HAL, launched the company’s dedicated office in Australia 12 years ago.

He also was responsible for Seabourn in Australia and New Zealand.

As reported here, he was made redundant as part of a Carnival Australia restructure in July last year.

Crystal Cruises was previously owned by Genting Hong Kong, but ceased trading in early 2022 after its parent company became insolvent.

A&K take-up

The brand and its two ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, were acquired by A&K Travel Group.

In his new position, Archbold will be responsible for sales in an area encompassing India to Japan and New Zealand.

He told Seatrade Cruise News he is ‘very excited’ about joining Crystal Cruises.

Great opportunity

‘It is a great opportunity to relaunch a much loved brand in Australia,’ he said.
