2.6m cruise passengers visited Mexico January to May

Cruise visitors to Mexico totaled 2,674,000 from January to May, generating $198.5m in revenue.

Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués announced the figures. 

He said Cozumel, Mahahual (Costa Maya), Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán captured 95.6% of the business.

1,248 calls

A total of 1,248 cruise calls were registered throughout the country.

Cozumel on top

Cozumel captured the most: 498 calls and 1,018,617 passengers, while Mahahual folllowed with 251 calls and 523,197 passengers.

Ensenada posted 140 calls with 226,005 passengers, and Cabo San Lucas, 116 calls with 213,850 passengers.

Puerto Vallarta chalked up 89 calls with 179,025 passengers, while Mazatlán had 69 arrivals carrying 149,161 cruisers.
