2022: MSC Virtuosa returns to UK, record number of line’s vessels in the Med

MSC Virtuosa will homeport in Southampton from May 2022, offering itineraries in Northern Europe including the Norwegian Fjords and Baltic capitals, while a greater number of MSC Cruises’ vessels will sail the Mediterranean than ever before.

 It brings the line’s total number of vessels at sea during summer next year to 19 – the full fleet – which will collectively sail 500 voyages that season. 
   

Northern Europe

MSC Cruises’ five vessels based in Northern Europe next year will offer more than 50 different itineraries, ranging from three to 21 nights in length with embarkation at several ports.

After a season in the UAE and Qatar, MSC Virtuosa will sail Northern Europe. The ship will replace MSC Magnifica and will homeport in Southampton, UK from May.

MSC Magnifica will spend the summer in Northern Europe, adopting cruises previously announced for MSC Orchestra that comprise 10-,11- and 14-night itineraries out of Hamburg.

Also departing from Hamburg, MSC Preziosa will commence seven-night sailings in the region from July through September, 2022

Mediterranean

14 of the line’s vessels will cruise the Mediterranean in summer next year - the highest number of MSC Cruises vessels to ever be deployed in the region – offering a combined 40 itineraries with an extensive choice of convenient embarkation ports.

Among the mini cruises and longer cruises of up to 21 nights available is MSC Orchestra’s new 10–night itinerary calling: Genoa, Italy; Marseille/Provence, France; Malaga, Cadiz/Seville, Alicante/Costa Blanca and Mahon/Menorca, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal and Olbia in Emerald Coast/Sardinia, Italy. It gives passengers from Portugal the opportunity to venture from a local port for the whole season.

Also, in the Western Mediterranean next summer are: MSC Grandiosa, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Opera, MSC Splendida, MSC Seaviewand MSC Seaside, as well as MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia in Autumn.

MSC Musica, MSC Fantasia, MSC Sinfonia, MSC Armonia and MSC Lirica will meanwhile operate in the East Mediterranean. 

Next year, MSC Magnifica will offer 11-night sailings from Genoa to Morocco and the Canary Islands and MSC Poesia will be deployed on mini-cruises in the Mediterranean Sea. 

MSC Fantasia in autumn 2022 will offer 11-night cruises from Trieste with calls in Izmir/Ephesus or Istanbul.

Caribbean

MSC Seashore will continue sailing out of PortMiami whilst MSC Divina will offer three-, four- and seven-night cruises out of Port Canaveral with both ships calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.

Asia

MSC Bellissima will be deployed in Asia in summer next year offering cruises in Japan and China.

Vaccination

MSC Cruises’ voyages are open to vaccinated passengers only, a policy it will extend through summer 2022.
