Adora Cruises to deploy Adora Mediterranea in South China

Adora Mediterranea will embark on voyages with Guangzhou as its homeport in 2024.

Adora Cruises is expecting to jointly boost the southern Chinese port city Guangzhou’s cruise tourism industry and co-launch a series of pilot projects with support from the governments of Guangzhou Municipality and Guangzhou Nansha District, as well as Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port. 

As the first step following the strategic partnership, the newly refubished Adora Mediterranea is scheduled to embark on international sailings with Nansha, Guangzhou as its home port starting December 18 covering popular cruise destinations including Hong Kong in China, Vietnam and Japan

'To deploy Adora Mediterranea in Guangzhou is another critical step in deepening our strategic layout in South China. The cruise ship will further enhance its onboard experiences by blending Linnan culture and China’s intangible cultural heritage for the southern China deployment,' stated Liu Hui, CEO, Adora Cruises.

Follows Guangzhou plans for second newbuild

In July, Adora announced its second Chinese-built large cruise ship is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026 and start international voyages from Guangzhou in 2027

The line currently has two cruise ships in operation, Adora Magic City, the first Chinese-built large cruise ship, and Adora Mediterranea, serving over 300,000 domestic and foreign guests in total. Eying on the future, Adora Cruises will devote itself to the Chinese market by launching a wide range of products.
