AIDAsol first to visit Leixões port since Portugal updates restrictions

Passengers arrive at Leixões port on Valentine's Day after the change in government restrictions
Leixões’ Porto Cruise Terminal received AIDAsol on February 14 – the first vessel to call since government COVID-19 regulations were updated.

Embarkation, disembarkation and land licenses of passengers and crew of cruise ships in mainland national ports are now permitted in Portugal, without the requirement to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken before arrival.

The AIDA Cruises vessel was sailing round-trip from Hamburg on its 43-day Caribbean winter break itinerary when it called at the port, carrying 680 crew members plus 1,005 passengers of mainly German nationality.
