It will debut in 2023, following a test this year as a cruise with an add-on parks package.

Eight-day cruise and seven-day land program

The trip will operate between Portland, Oregon, and Jackson, Wyoming, and includes an eight-day cruise, a jet boat adventure in Hells Canyon and a seven-day land exploration through Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.

The program offers the opportunity to explore two rivers and five states throughout the Northwest in a single seamless journey, according to Charles B. Robertson, president & CEO of American Cruise Lines.

CRUISE ACL national parks itinerary

Travelers first cruise along the Columbia and Snake rivers as they trace the epic route of explorers Lewis and Clark. The scenery changes from Pacific views in Astoria to snow-capped Mount Hood, lush alpine meadows then high desert canyons. Immersive experiences onboard and ashore include active excursions like kayaking along the Columbia River Gorge to more relaxed offerings such as tastings at wineries along the Hood River.

Geysers, wildlife, jet boat, hot springs

During the land portion of the trip, participants will visit Yellowstone’s world-famous geyser, Old Faithful, and view wildlife that freely roam in Grand Teton National Park. Special highlights include a jet boat ride through Hells Canyon; visits to Mammoth Hot Springs, Lake MacDonald and Jenny Lake; and overnights in scenic Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Jackson, Wyoming.

Dedicated adventure guide

The national parks portion includes a dedicated American Cruise Lines adventure guide for the full duration, accommodations in centrally located hotels, transportation to the parks each day, park entrance fees and fully curated experiences within the parks; all meals and transportation to the airport in Jackson.

American’s Columbia and Snake rivers and Mississippi River cruises include a complimentary pre-cruise hotel stay. Fares include drinks and cocktails onboard and shore excursions at nearly all ports, with some premium experiences available for additional fees. The line also offers flat rate domestic airfare for all river and coastal cruises.
