P&O Cruises' Arvia, carrying near maximum capacity of 5,200 passengers, docked at the fifth berth in St. John's. More than 700 travelers ended their cruise and disembarked, while another 700 embarked.

Emerald Sakara's maiden call

At the Nevis Street Pier, Emerald Cruises' Emerald Sakara, on its maiden call, made a full turnaround with more than 80 passengers ending and starting their journey in Antigua. The 100-passenger megayacht is scheduled to be named Dec. 2 at festivities in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Artania and Marella Discovery

Meanwhile, Phoenix Reisen's Artania and Marella Cruises' Marella Discovery were berthed at Heritage Quay, making it the first time four vessels have been in port this season.

'... Operations were smooth, so guests had a pleasant experience at our port,' said Cynthia Jacobs-Browne, Antigua Cruise Port officer-in-charge.

Arvia began homeporting in Antigua in January and will make a total of nine turnarounds this season, while Emerald Sakara will make 13.

Star Clippers' Royal Clipper and SeaDream Yacht Club's SeaDream II will also turn around at Antigua Cruise Port.
