Barbados eyes cruise season equal to 2019's

Barbados expects 390 cruise calls carrying a projected 739,557 passengers in the 2022/23 winter season.

New and returning ships

An anticipated new caller is The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's Evrima, which is scheduled to sail from Bridgetown, among returning homeporting ships including MSC Seaside, Seabourn Ovation and Rhapsody of the Seas.

One of the newly amplified attractions is Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure, operated by Chukka Caribbean Adventures, including the Mount Gay Rum Experience, Monkey Zipline and the Gully Challenge Course.

Crop Over returns

As Barbados returns to form, the island this summer hosted its first Crop Over Festival in two years. One of the Caribbean's most culturally significant festivals, the 300-year-old Crop Over tradition celebrates the end of the sugar cane growing season.

The festival began in May and just culminated the first Monday in August with Grand Kadooment drawing costumed revelers parading in the streets.
